18th edition of the Festival – September 1 to 10, 2023

The Festival Les Coups de Théâtre is pleased to announce its 18th edition, which will take place in Montreal from September 1 to 10, 2023, and will feature some 20 productions from around the world.
This new edition marks the arrival of theatre director Amélie Bergeron as co-artistic director / national component. It also marks the strong return to the forefront of the Festival’s international component, still under the direction of Rémi Boucher, thus welcoming back to Montreal an impressive number of prominent artists, creators and programmers of the world young audience scene.
This upcoming national and international program will be rich in color. Focusing on the creation of new works in Theater and Dance for young audiences, the dialogue between America and Europe will be at the heart of this edition and will highlight current issues in playwriting for young audiences during panel discussions and master classes open to the public and performing arts professionals. During these conversations participants will share, in a free manner, their views on the international dissemination of recent and new works. Artists from all continents will gather in Montreal in September 2022 to exchange on these issues.
As a follow-up, in November 2022, the Festival Les Coups de Théâtre will launch the second edition of LE PIVOT, an international platform for dance for young audiences, presented in partnership with CINARS.
