GANOU-GÀLA, LA TRAVERSÉE
Théâtre Motus
Canada/Québec
THEATRE, PUPPETRY, SHADOW PLAY AND LIVE MUSIC
SHOW
The road travelled by five characters creates the narrative thread of Ganou-Gàla, interweaving elements of theatre, puppetry, shadow play and music. The story begins with a mother whose twin babies are stolen away from her in a moment of distraction: one by a vulture and the other by a turtle, each of which raises their child separately, as in the ancestral Dogon myth. A parallel story unfolds with a butterfly-girl tracking the migration of the monarchs alongside a young man who seeks to heal his inner turmoil by returning to his African roots.
This show is presented in professional preview.
